Reached Your Maximum Chemo-Treatments?  Get More, Safely with IPT

Good candidates for IPT may be patients who have exhausted traditional chemo therapy treatment or who want a second line of defense against cancer. Since the doses are small and localized, patients may continue with up to 10 treatments of IPT.

What is IPT?

IPT or Insulin Potentiation Therapy, is the use of insulin and low dose chemotherapy to kill certain types of cancer cells. One of the many benefits of IPT over traditional chemotherapy is its ability to target the cancer cells, with little, if any harm to the surrounding healthy cells. Because cancer cells feed on sugar and need it for survival, IPT uses a small amount of insulin administered to the patient, that immediately starves the cancer cells of the sugar they require for survival.  This in turn causes the cells to open up, in an emergency effort to get sugar.  After the cells have been starved and are fully open to absorption, a small amount of chemo mixed with sugar is administered to the cells.  Since the cancer cells are in their most vulnerable state, they more easily absorb the sugar mixed with the radioactive agent that poisons them.

Because of insulins ability to potentiate chemotherapy (one substance enhances another) much less can be administered while still being effective. Insulin potentiation therapy uses about 1/10th the amount of Chemotherapy used in traditional administration as a cancer defense.  Because the dose is small and the cancer cells are most permeable at the time it is given, they swallow the largest portion of the sugar and chemotherapy. This keeps the surrounding healthy cells from being poisened in the process.  Additionally patients are able to avoid many of the unpleasant side effects that are common in traditional chemotherapy treatments. Hair loss and and nausea rarely occur with IPT in fact usually patients experience no downtime at all.

How it Works

Because cancer cells feed on sugar, relying on it for survival, IPT uses a small amount of insulin administered to the patient, which starves the cancer cells of sugar. This in turn causes the cells to open up in an emergency effort to get sugar.

At precisely the right moment after administering the insulin, when the cells are vulnerable and starving from the lack of sugar, the patient is given a small amount of chemo, followed quickly by a dose of sugar. Starving from the lack of glucose, the cancer cells absorb the largest portion of chemo as they feed on the sugar. Very little is left over to damage the surrounding healthy cells.

Due to insulin’s ability to potentiate (when one substance enhances another) chemotherapy, much less can be administered to the patient while still being effective. IPT uses about 1/10th of the amount of chemo used in conventional cancer treatment therapies, making it safe to use after conventional chemotherapy options have been exhausted.

Since the surrounding healthy cells are virtually unaffected, patients are able to avoid many of the unpleasant side effects that are common in traditional chemotherapy treatments. Hair loss, nausea, weakness, and fatigue, rarely occur with IPT.

Note: It is important to properly support the liver during and after IPT due to the increased amount of toxins that will be passing thru the body when the cancer cells begin dying off.

The Benefits of Insulin Potentiation Therapy

  • Avoid the side affects associated with traditional chemotherapy
  • Can be used for patients who have reached their maximum of traditional chemo treatment
  • Less toxic and hard on the immune system
  • Kills less, if any healthy cells – more targeted
  • A continued treatment after conventional chemo has reached its maximum
  • More targeted to attack cancer cells, avoiding healthy cells
  • Little to no side effects after treatment
  • Use as a primary or secondary line of defense against cancer
  • Uses only 1/10th the amount of chemo used in conventional therapies

Because IPT is a more targeted method of administering chemotherapy, lower doses can be used with equal or greater effectiveness and less side affects.
