Start close to home

Ask the treatment centre about its transport desk, shuttle and parking support. If enrolled in Medicaid, ask the plan about its own non-emergency transportation booking process.

Book the return ride too

Give the appointment address, expected finish time and mobility needs. Ask how to arrange a pickup if treatment runs late and what to do after a cancellation.

Explain access needs

Confirm whether the vehicle can accommodate a wheelchair, a companion or door-to-door assistance. Do not assume a volunteer ride includes hands-on care.
