This test measures the combined amount of both direct (conjugated) and indirect (unconjugated) bilirubin in the blood. This test is used to evaluate liver function and in the diagnosis and treatment of liver, hemolytic, hematologic, and metabolic disorders, including hepatitis and gallbladder obstructive disease.

What patients is this test right for?This test may be recommended for monitoring liver health in individuals showing symptoms of liver problems or suspected of having hemolytic anemia.
