Ozone Therapy at Sunridge Medical

Ozone gas, or O3, has been used as a medical treatment for over 40 years. Though many think of ozone as part of the atmosphere, research conducted worldwide shows that medical ozone therapy is useful and successful throughout the world.

Sunridge Medical utilizes ozone therapy for many health conditions including treatment for these cancer specialties.

Effects of Ozonized Blood in the Body

Ozonized blood increases superoxide dismutase and glutathione which help facilitate liver detoxification from various chemicals. Transient increases of IL-6, IL-2, and TNF are seen in immunomolecular markers in the blood, which enhances the immune system. When blood is reinfused into the body it helps increase peripheral blood circulation as it relaxes blood vessels via nitric oxide. This effect increases circulation to the extremities, and patients often notice an increase in the warmth of their hands and feet. This ozonized blood has an action that allows the body to carry and deliver oxygen.

More oxygen to the body provides an aerobic environment that promotes healing through detoxification and increases cellular oxygen respiration mechanisms within the body. An anaerobic environment in the body means a lack of oxygen. Many degenerative diseases originate from lack of oxygen to the tissues, such as heart disease, cancers, and osteoporosis, to name a few. The oxygenated blood allows improvement in the immune function and enhances the body’s own internal ecology to be less susceptible to chronic degenerative diseases. Oxygen is critical for healing and preventing degenerative diseases.

Ozone Therapy Benefits

Cancer cells grow and thrive in anaerobic environments (lack of oxygen). In anaerobic environments, cancer cells feed off glucose. Ozone therapy provides oxygen to the body, which creates a more aerobic environment (oxygen-rich state). An aerobic environment weakens cancer cells and strengthens healthy cells in the body. The ozonized blood creates an environment in the body that favors cancer cell death. In 1931, Dr. Otto Warburg won his first Nobel Prize for his work, which found cancer is caused by a lack of oxygen in cells.

Dr. Warburg states in “The Prime Cause of Prevention of Cancer” that the cause of cancer is no longer a mystery but occurs whenever any cell is denied 60% of its oxygen requirements. This occurs through a buildup of pollution or toxicity within and around cells that block and then damage the cellular oxygen respiration mechanism.

Ozonized Blood Detoxification of Cancer Patients

Ozone blood helps promote detoxification and elimination of chemical carcinogens via liver metabolism. Ozonized blood increases superoxide dismutase and glutathione which help facilitate liver detoxification from various chemicals. Also, it helps with the elimination of excess chemotherapeutics that remain in the system after chemotherapy.

Ozonized blood causes transient increases in the immune system, of IL-6, IL-2 and TNF are seen in immunomolecular markers in the blood that enhance the immune system.

Biochemistry of Ozonized Blood

Catalase is an enzyme found around all cells that protect them from free radical damage. Free radicals are caused by the breakdown of toxic metabolites in the body. Cancer cells have a decreased amount of catalase compared to healthy cells in the body. When ozonized blood is delivered intravenously, it further decreases the catalase enzyme protecting cancer cells. This decreases the protective barrier around the cancer cells.

Healthy cells are not as affected by ozone therapy because their free radical protective mechanisms are more fully intact. This is why if a patient uses ozone prior to radiation, radiation seems to have greater effects on destroying cancer cells.

Therapies like IV high-dose ascorbic acid and some chemotherapeutics work by penetrating the enzyme catalase and then destroying cancer cells. Ozone therapy helps to potentiate the action of other cancer therapies via the biochemistry of cellular oxygen respiration changes that are seen with ozonized blood. In summary, ozone therapy creates an environment within the body that is favorable in the promotion of cancer cell death.

Relationship of Alkalinity, Blood pH and Ozone Therapy

A person’s blood is never truly acidic or alkaline. The blood actually buffers any relative acidity and alkalinity seen in the blood’s pH. Without this buffer, we would die. However, blood can contain an alkaline ash state or an acid ash state. The ash in the blood is a by-product of dietary and lifestyle habits. A healthy blood pH is seen in a more alkaline ash state and an unhealthy blood pH is related to an acidic ash state. For instance, high protein diets may cause an acidic ash increase in the blood and good amounts of dark green leafy vegetables help promote a more alkaline ash state.

These two phases represent environments within the body created by diet and lifestyle. Acidic ash states promote chronic disease conditions to form and/or advance. When blood is acidic, it decreases cell-to-cell communication and interaction, impairing the immune system signaling and eliminating pathways of metabolites (toxic by-products of cell metabolism). Ozone therapy helps create a more alkaline ash state shift because ozone therapy increases the body’s capacity to carry oxygen and promotes elimination. Oxygenation improves cellular metabolism and interaction by establishing a more aerobic (oxygen-rich) body environment.
