Revolutionizing Treatment for Esophageal Cancer

While esophageal cancer may not be as prevalent as other cancers, it is still deadly. In 2020 alone, a staggering 16,000 people in the United States died from this rare form of cancer according to the American Cancer Society.  Cancer of the Esophageas has become one of the deadliest among all types. Yet there is still treatment options for esophageal cancer at Sunridge Medical.

At Sunridge Medical, we specialize in taking an integrated approach to the treatment of esophageal cancer. Our experienced physicians offer personalized plans that creatively combine both modern and alternative medicines for maximum results. We strive to achieve optimal success with every patient’s unique journey through their diagnosis by researching advanced treatments from traditional sources and incorporating them into tailored programs.

Types of Esophageal Cancer

Cancers of the upper two-thirds of the esophagus usually arise from squamous cells and are called squamous cell cancers. Cancers of the lower esophagus most often arise from the columnar epithelium and are called adenocarcinomas. There has been a tremendous increase in the number of adenocarcinoma cases in the last two decades. Between 1/3 to 1/2 of all esophageal cancer diagnosis is due to adenocarcinoma. Barrett’s esophagus is a risk factor for adenocarcinoma.

Esophageaul Cancer treatment at Sunridge MedicalEsophageal tumors usually lead to many symptoms including difficulty swallowing and pain. Small and localized tumors are treated surgically with the intent to be curative. Larger tumors usually are not operable and hence cannot be cured; their growth can still be delayed with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, alternative treatments, or combinations of cancer treatments.

With conventional treatment, esophageal cancer still carries a concerningly low 5-year survival rate. This is due to the advanced age of many patients at diagnosis, coupled with the presence of local and distant spread – making it difficult for surgical resection to be fully effective in removing all residual cancer cells. Heart or lung disease associated with the condition only exacerbates this problem further.

Revolutionizing Esophageal Cancer Treatment

Our physicians have found that symptoms can frequently be improved and even reversed with our natural alternative Esophageal cancer treatments. We take a holistic approach to patient care and strive to not only treat the cancer, but also alleviate symptoms, increase quality of life and most importantly, address the underlying cause of the disease. Even if standard treatments have reached their limits, patients with Esophageal cancer still have treatment options at Sunridge Medical.

Alternative Esophageal Cancer Treatment

At Sunridge Medical, our highly-trained physicians are experts in providing an integrated approach to the alternative treatment of esophageal cancer. Our treatment plans are individualized, even for patients with the same type of cancer, and involve both traditional and alternative medicines. We have integrated advanced, research-based alternative medicines with conventional therapies into a comprehensive, individualized treatment program that offers patients optimal success.

Esophageal Cancer Treatment Options

Cancer Care patients seek alternative Esophageal cancer treatment at every stage of their cancer journey. Some at the beginning, during or immediately following an Esophageal cancer diagnosis and when all conventional treatments have been exhausted. For over fifteen years, Sunridge Medical has treated patients with all types and stages of Esophageal cancer including Stage 4 Esophageal cancer and metastatic Esophageal cancer.

This devastating cancer diagnosis becomes rather clinical quickly when treatment options are offered including conventional and alternative Esophageal cancer treatments. We treat Esophageal cancer at every stage including Stage 4 Esophageal cancer.

The Sunridge Approach to Esophageal Cancer

The Sunridge approach to Esophageal Cancer treatment is to study the whole body, investigate the underlying cause of the cancer, understand the diagnosis and how cancer manifested, establish the overall wellness of the patient and their ability to respond to treatments; then based on these findings deliver the best treatments to stop the cancer and stave off additional disease. Our combination of therapies of conventional and alternative Esophageal Cancer treatments provides patients with the most successful approach to treatment. Our cancer plan aims at attacking the cancer, and restoring the body’s natural defense and regulatory mechanisms, including the immune system and detoxification pathways.

At Sunridge Medical we offer a comprehensive immunobiological treatment aimed at attacking the cancer, and restoring the body’s natural defense and regulatory mechanisms, including the immune system and detoxification pathways. Our approach combines alternative and conventional therapies to provide patients with the most overall comprehensive Esophageal cancer treatment. Because successful cancer treatment is not a “one size fits all” approach, substantial time is spent with each patient to learn more about the details surrounding their illness as this is a necessary component to developing the right treatment. Cancer cells develop in every human being.

Cancer cells that form in a body with a healthy immune system are identified and destroyed before they become tumors by the body’s natural defense mechanism. Restoration of the natural defense system should be an important part of the cancer care fight and be a part of successful, long-tern recovery. Cancer is a complex disease that requires a serious approach. At Sunridge identifying all the factors which led up to the cancer diagnosis allows us to build a detailed battle plan to eradicate cancer and restore the body to optimum health.

Naturopathic Oncology and Integrative Oncology

Patients receive care by more than just our doctors; Sunridge has an integrated cancer care team with access to an arsenal of treatments that gives us confidence to treat all stages and forms of Esophageal cancer.

Naturopathic oncology is a holistic process that looks at the entire system of a patient and aims to discover the cancer source. Integrative oncology is a newer trend in cancer care that looks at the most effective treatments alternative cancer care and conventional care offer and uses the best of each world. There is a stronger focus placed on the ability of alternative cancer care to build up the body than that conventional treatment which very often leaves permanent damage.

Combined as the Sunridge approach, this methodology makes our treatments powerful against the eradication of cancer. We use the most current research for cancer therapy treatments along with modalities that have a solid history of success. We offer our own state-of-the-art laboratory testing at Sunridge Medical along with our compounding and specialty pharmacy for individualized treatment plans that meet all our patients’ needs.

Standard of Care for Esophageal Cancer Treatment

The “Standard of Care” in Esophageal cancer is surgery immunotherapy, chemotherapy, and targeted drug therapy. Many patients diagnosed with Esophageal cancer are reluctant to undergo the suffering, toxic and caustic nature of chemo. However, some conventional doctors refuse to participate in the treatment of a patient unless the conventional medical “Standard of Care” is followed. This can leave patients cut-off from traditional medical support when seeking naturopathic oncology.

Sunridge Medical physicians welcome working with a patient’s conventional physician but additionally, we have an incredible network of some of the best-in-their-class surgeons and radiologists that can support any health protocol a patient chooses.

The Effects of Chemotherapy vs. Natural Chemicals in Esophageal Cancer Treatment

Chemotherapy is like pouring weed killer on a garden. The flowers get damaged and die right along with the weeds, but then even more resistant weeds find their way to the surface. Chemotherapy attacks every cell in the body. Hair cells stop their ability to hold onto the hair follicle in many chemo treatments because the chemo has attacked a healthy cell. Neuropathy is induced because the chemo attacks healthy nerve cells. Organs such as the heart and kidneys can be permanently damaged because chemotherapy indiscriminately attacks healthy cells and cancer cells.

On the contrary, several natural chemicals can create a specifically programmed cell death (apoptosis) of cancer cells by penetrating the cancer cell membrane. Apoptosis attaches a genetic message for a cell to self-destruct. Omega 3’s, ResveratrolVitamin C, pine tree bark and an exhaustive list of morphing substances found in nature can have this miraculous effect, especially when delivered directly into the bloodstream intravenously. It would not be fair to say that alternative cancer therapy is without side effects, but those effects in no way rank in the same caustic category of chemotherapies.

Abstract: High-dose intravenously administered vitamin C (IVC) is widely used in cancer patients by complementary and alternative medicine practitioners. The most frequent indications for IVC therapy result from the belief in its effectiveness as a potent anti-cancer agent which additionally enhances chemosensitivity of cancer cells and reduces chemotherapy-related toxicities and fatigue intensity.

In this narrative review, we decided to deal with this issue, trying to answer the question whether there is any scientific evidence supporting the rationale for application of high-dose IVC therapy in advanced-stage cancer patients. Although results obtained from preclinical studies demonstrated that millimolar ascorbate plasma concentrations achievable only after IVC administration were cytotoxic to fast-growing malignant cells and inhibited tumor growth as well as prolonged the survival of laboratory animals, such positive effects were not found in human studies with advanced-stage cancer patients.

We also have not found the rationale for the use of IVC to increase the effectiveness of chemotherapy and to reduce the chemotherapy-induced toxicity in the above mentioned group. Nevertheless, in palliative care, high-dose IVC might be considered as a therapy improving the quality of life and reducing cancer-related symptoms, such as fatigue and bone pain. However, because of the absence of placebo-controlled randomized trials on IVC efficacy in advanced-stage cancer patients, the placebo effect cannot be excluded.
